Supermarkets in Psalidi

Most stays in Psalidi are hotel-based, so the shopping here leans toward topping up rather than a full weekly shop: cold drinks, snacks, sun cream, beach things and a bottle of something for the balcony.

For a bigger shop there is more choice in Kos Town, a short bus or bicycle ride away along the flat coast road. The Psalidi stores cover what a hotel room or studio apartment actually needs.

Psalidi runs east from Kos Town along the coast as an almost unbroken line of hotels and apartments, facing the sea with the hills rising behind. It is close enough to the capital to walk or cycle in — the flat coastal path makes the ride easy — but far enough out to be quiet in the evening.

The shops here exist mainly to serve that strip: groceries, cold drinks, beach supplies, sun cream and the practical end of a self-catering stay. Because the strip is long, it is worth working out which one is nearest to your accommodation before setting off in the afternoon heat rather than discovering the distance the hard way.

Psalidi is also the closest resort area to Therma, the hot springs further along the coast where thermal water runs into a walled pool at the sea's edge. A shop stop on the way out is the usual plan, since there is nothing to buy once you are down there.
