Kochylari Beach, Kefalos

Kochylari Beach is located just outside the village of Kefalos, approximately 5 kilometres from it. You will reach it by following the right side road off the provincial road from Kos to Kefalos, where you turn for Limnionas. The beach is known for its large waves, which in recent years has made it particularly popular among surf enthusiasts (wind surf/kite surf). One would assume that the etymology of the word is related to the shells that are evidently found in the area, as “Kochyli” means “Shell” in Greek.
